Bio Research
Accelerate preclinical research with literature search and genomics analysis
The Bio Research plugin connects Claude to preclinical research tools and databases. It helps you search scientific literature, analyze genomics data, prioritize drug targets, plan experiments, and accelerate early-stage life sciences R&D — so researchers can move faster from hypothesis to insight without switching between dozens of specialized databases.
Who is this for?
Life sciences researchers, bioinformaticians, lab directors, and R&D teams in biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Especially valuable for teams doing target identification, literature review, and preclinical data analysis.
What you can do
- Search PubMed, bioRxiv, and other literature databases for relevant research
- Analyze single-cell RNA sequencing data with quality control workflows
- Prioritize drug targets using integrated databases like Open Targets and ChEMBL
- Plan and document experiments with proper controls and methodology
- Build Nextflow pipelines for genomics data processing
- Convert instrument data to standardized formats for analysis

FAQ
Is this only for biology research?
The current version focuses on preclinical life sciences (genomics, drug target identification, literature search). It's not designed for clinical research, chemistry, or physics — though you could customize it.
Can it access full-text articles?
Access depends on your institutional subscriptions. Claude can search abstracts freely and access full text through connected publishers (Wiley) if your organization has access.
Does it handle sensitive research data responsibly?
Refer to Anthropic's privacy policy for details on data handling. Consult your institution's data policies before using Cowork with sensitive research data.
