Claude Cowork Connectors & Integrations

Every tool Claude can connect to, organized by category and role — plus how to set each one up.

Claude Cowork connects to 38+ workplace tools through connectors — including Slack, Notion, Google Drive, HubSpot, Jira, Salesforce, Snowflake, and more. Connectors use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to securely bridge Claude and your existing tools, so Claude can search, read, and interact with your data without leaving the Cowork interface. All connectors are free.

What Are Connectors?

Connectors are the bridge between Claude and the tools you already use. When you connect Slack, for example, Claude can search your messages, find conversations about a topic, and pull context from channels — all without you switching apps.

Under the hood, connectors use the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard Anthropic developed for connecting AI to external tools. Each connector authenticates securely through OAuth or API keys and respects the permissions of your underlying accounts — Claude can only see what you can see.

Connectors are optional. Cowork works perfectly well without any — you can work with local files, create documents, and automate workflows on your computer. But connecting your tools unlocks significantly more power, especially with plugins like Enterprise Search that search across multiple sources.

How to Set Up a Connector

Setting up a connector typically takes under a minute. The exact steps vary by tool, but the general process is the same:

  1. 1.Open a Cowork session in the Claude desktop app
  2. 2.When a plugin needs a connector, Claude will prompt you to connect it
  3. 3.Click the connect button — this opens an OAuth authorization flow in your browser
  4. 4.Authorize Claude to access your account (read-only by default for most connectors)
  5. 5.Return to Claude — the connector is active and ready to use

You can also browse available connectors in the Cowork settings and set them up proactively before you need them. Connectors stay active across sessions — you only need to authorize once.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many connectors can I set up?

There's no limit. Connect as many tools as you want. The more you connect, the more powerful plugins like Enterprise Search become, since they can search across all your sources at once.

Is my data safe when I connect a tool?

Connectors use standard OAuth authentication and respect the access controls of the underlying tool. Claude can only see what your account has permission to access. Anthropic does not store the data from connected tools.

Can I disconnect a tool later?

Yes. You can disconnect any connector at any time from Cowork settings. You can also revoke access from the tool's side (e.g., in Slack's app management settings).

Do connectors cost extra?

No. All connectors are free. You need a paid Claude plan for Cowork access, and you need an active subscription to the tool you're connecting, but the connector bridge itself costs nothing.

What's the difference between connectors and plugins?

Plugins add role-specific intelligence and workflows to Claude (e.g., the Marketing plugin knows how to draft campaigns). Connectors give Claude access to external tools (e.g., the Slack connector lets Claude search your messages). Plugins use connectors to access data — they work together. See our plugin guide for details on all 11 plugins.
